Fox News Channel hired president’s stepdaughter Lara Trump to host a new weekend show on the network.
Her hourly show, “My Views with Lara Trump,” will air Saturday night at 9pm, Fox announced Wednesday.
Fox said the Trump show announced “as this country leads to a new era of practicality, it will focus on the return of common sense to every corner of American life.”
Eric Trump’s wife, Lara Trump – the third son of Donald Trump – was a prominent figure in Republican politics. The couple married in Marlago, Florida in 2014 and have two children.
This isn’t Lara Trump’s first stint in Fox News. After Trump lost to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020, she considered running for a US Senate seat from her North Carolina home town, but ultimately opposed it. She became a Fox News Commentator 2021 and 2022.
When Donald Trump revived the 2024 campaign, he set up Lara Trump as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, where she was fundraising, voter outreach and party’s “election integrity” initiative He was a TV supporter who directed the film. She resigned from the RNC after the election and removed her name from consideration as a possible successor to R-Fla’s Senator Marco Rubio.
Beyond her role in the Trump family, Lara was an active supporter of the Make America Great Again (Maga) movement. In 2016, she led the Trump Pence Women’s Empowerment Tour, an initiative aimed at mobilizing Republican women to support her stepfather’s presidential election.
Lara Trump is passionate about fitness and has her own line of activewear. She also explored side ventures as a singer and released several songs. Her daughter, Carolina, is named after her hometown.
