The UFC is poised to have a big year in 2025, with the current champion threatened by future contenders and newcomers looking to climb the ladder. Fans may see a new superstar rise to the top and take the baton from the current titleholder. The best bet is for a fighter like Khamzat Chimaev or Bryce Mitchell to win the championship in 2025. But there is another fighter in the heavyweight division who is making a lot of noise and will be looking to earn a well-deserved title shot over the next 12 months.
Joe Rogan wants to watch Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall in 2025
Tom Aspinall is considered a major threat to Jon Jones’ championship reign and his legacy as an undefeated fighter. So a fitting ending to see if Aspinall can do what 29 other men have tried and failed to do would put him in front of the UFC heavyweight champion. Fight fans around the world have been hoping for a match between the interim heavyweight champion and Jones, and this section also includes the name of famous UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan highlighted the fight and expressed hope that UFC CEO Dana White will book the fight in 2025.
Tom Aspinall has finished off nearly every opponent within round one of each bout thus far, giving Logan substance to weigh on the other side of his dominance. Tom has only advanced to the second round three times in his 15-fight career, losing two of those times.
I want to know (what will happen). This is a question for Aspinall. What will happen to Aspinall in the second round?
If you want to talk about a guy who sprints.
If you want to talk about fast-twitch fighters, Aspinall might be the fastest heavyweight in the history of the sport.
I don’t think anyone moves like that person.
“Being over 250 pounds, his movement is extraordinary and we have to deal with that.
That’s a crazy ability. His ability to move is very different from other players in the sport.
(His) hand speed and all the skills.
(He) has incredible stand-up, knocks out opponents with one punch, has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, and is a really good wrestler.
He has it all and is young.
According to Logan, Aspinall is a strong contender for Jon Jones, but whether the fight reaches the Octagon is up to Jon Jones. Bones has so far been reluctant to speak freely about his fight with Tom Aspinall, with fans speculating that he himself considers the Brit a threat to his undefeated record. There is. But Joe Rogan shot down that speculation.
The 55-year-old said:
(Jon Jones) never said backstage, “I’m not going to fight Tom Aspinall.” It’s the exact opposite.
Jon Jones looks like he’s 37 (or) 38 now, but there’s a big gap between games.
“He’s not afraid to fight Tom Aspinall.”
“He’s going to fight Tom Aspinall and it’s going to be the biggest fight in UFC history.
