Jamshedpur: Loyola School Telco hosted its 8th Annual Sports Day, which was filled with vibrant displays of competition, camaraderie and sportsmanship. The event was hosted by JNAC City Vice-Chairman Krishna Kumar, accompanied by his wife Tanuja Krishna, as the chief guest. The chief guest, Chief Legal Counsel Gyanendra Karan, and other dignitaries including Chief Pastor Fr KM Joseph, Rev. Fr. Vinod Fernandes Fr Jerry D’Souza and Principal Charanjeet Orson were also present.
In his speech, Mr. Krishna Kumar encouraged the students to dream big, work hard and respect discipline, which he considered essential for success. He shared his five life beliefs, including “I am the best, I was born to win, and I will win” and encouraged the students to believe in themselves and their future. Gyanendra Karan also inspired the audience with his emotional words.
The ceremony was led by Commander Nishit Rai and Commander Arpita Tiwary. The parade featured the captains and vice-captains of the four schools: Jaguar, Panther, Leopard, and Cheetah. Torchbearers Ronit Bakula, Srijan Sanyal, Kashish Singh and Shubhankar Kumar lit the sports torch, marking the official start of the event. A drum and flute corps led by Captain Raksha Verma created an energetic atmosphere. The students participated in a variety of training sessions, including Christmas-themed training with the nursery school and African dance with St. Mary’s. I-III, and Dragon Drill by Std. Ⅳ~Ⅵ.
Awards were given to top performers such as Ronit Bahra (King of Field), Srijaya Thakur (Queen of Field) and Sidhant Kashyap (King of Track). Jaguar House was crowned the overall winner, while Panther House and Leopard House were runners-up and runner-up. The ceremony ended with the lowering of the school flag and the singing of the Loyola Hymn.
