The head of the IRGC Intelligence Protection Agency rejected negotiations with the US, calling them “red lines,” warning that threats to Iran’s national interests would be met with mutual actions around the world.
“We will respond decisively if the US attempts to do a prank, as the Supreme Leader warned,” said Brigadier Majid Kademi, who said that Iran would come to the negotiation table or risk military action. He said this after President Donald Trump’s ultimatum on what he was saying.
“If they threaten us, we threaten them. If they act on their threat, we are ready to retaliate and put their national interests at risk all over the world. “We’ll do that,” Kademi added.
Last week, Trump reinstated the so-called “maximum pressure” policy on Iran.
However, in several interviews, Trump said he liked to cast contracts to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons in bombing the country.
“Trump approached the deception and negotiations, revealing some of his goals while hiding others,” Kademi said. “He was aiming to dismantle Iran’s nuclear, missiles and traditional defense programs.
The IRGC commander also accused the US of misunderstanding Iranian people and claimed that Trump had exposed America’s true nature. “As the Supreme Leader states, we have no restrictions on global involvement, but negotiations with the US are off limits.”
Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei expressed his clear opposition to negotiations with the US on February 7, saying such consultations were “wise, unwise or honorable.”
Khademi said negotiations must be “intelligent, honorable and reasonable.”
