—

Iran unveiled an underground missile storage facility and announced on Friday that it was building a “new specialized missile,” according to Tasnim News, an affiliate of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

A video released by Iranian state television IRIB on Friday showed Revolutionary Guards commander Major General Hossein Salami and Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh inspecting the facility.

According to Tasnim newspaper, Hajizadeh called the site a “dormant volcano.”

Part of Iran’s operations against Israel in October and April were carried out using this underground missile base, Iranian semi-official media outlet Mehr News reported.

Speaking at an event in the southwestern Iranian city of Abadan on Friday, Salami also announced that the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces is developing a “new special missile.”

On Monday, General Ali Mohammad Naini announced that Iran will this month unveil a “missile and drone city” that will include an underground city to store missiles and another facility to house ships, according to the Tasnim news agency. He warned that the games would be held, Tasnim news agency reported.

On Friday, Iran’s Basij (volunteer) forces held a large-scale exercise involving 110,000 members in the capital Tehran, according to Tasnim news agency, and the Iranian military has conducted several war drills in recent days. added.

Iran has not lost power in the region, despite Iranian-backed forces in Lebanon, Gaza and Yemen coming under Israeli attack and the fall of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad’s regime, an ally of Iran. We aim to highlight this.

“Our deterrence capabilities are not designed based on the actions of other countries,” Salami said Friday.

In October, Israel announced that it had attacked Iranian missile manufacturing facilities and air defense systems in Iran in response to earlier Iranian attacks on Israel.

At the time, Iran’s Foreign Ministry called the Israeli attack a “clear violation” of international law, adding that Iran “has the right and obligation to defend itself.”

The United States is days away from lambasting President-elect Donald Trump, who launched a “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran during his first term. U.S. officials have expressed optimism about negotiations on a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, hoping a deal can be reached before President Trump takes office on January 20.
