The commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said his country was “determined” to make “major developments” in the military field.

Rear Admiral Hossein Salami made the remarks in a video released on Monday during a visit to one of the Revolutionary Guards Navy’s floating cities.

“We are determined to achieve great development thanks to the noble diligence of (our) fighters and the permission of the leader of the Islamic Revolution (Khamenei),” he said.

According to the Supreme Commander, the Revolutionary Guards Navy was able to engage different defense layers through offensive methods and strategies and engage in different types of close and ranged warfare.

“We wish to honor our dear and great Iranian people that the prosperous and strong young people of this country have faced off at sea against adversaries large and small, with potentially different capabilities, and are filled with honorable victories. I guarantee that we will be able to have a great showdown.”

Salami pointed out that the Navy is increasing the number of defense systems, ships and weapons every day.

“The reach of the Corps Navy’s ships has significantly expanded, and the number of ships is also increasing every day,” he said.

Earlier this month, the Revolutionary Guards Navy unveiled one of many such floating cities, with Salami also present.

During the ceremony, the commander emphasized the strategic importance of these facilities, which house numerous amphibious assault ships, missile launch systems, and mine layers.

He argued that, despite their impressive size, floating cities were only a small part of the navy’s defense capabilities.

The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, including the Army and the Revolutionary Guards, are continuously increasing military equipment and combat readiness in accordance with the instructions of Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The armed forces vowed to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of threats posed by the enemies of the Iranian state.
