TEHRAN – Iran’s Oil Minister has appointed Seyyed Ali-Mohammad Mousavi as the new representative of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Board of Directors, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Board of Directors, and the International Energy Forum. (IEF).
According to Shana, Mohsen Pakhnejad wrote to the secretaries-general of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and the International Energy Forum (IEF) on Monday, December 30th. He formally appointed Mousavi to the role. Mr. Mousavi currently serves as Deputy Minister of International Affairs and Commerce in the Ministry of Petroleum.
“Seyyed Ali-Mohammad Mousavi, Deputy Minister of International Affairs and Commerce, is hereby appointed as the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the OPEC Board, the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries Board, and the International Energy Forum.” He plans to participate in all upcoming meetings of these international organizations. ”
Mousavi replaces Afshin Jawan, who previously served as Iran’s interim representative to OPEC and other international energy agencies.
