India will receive No. 4 of five Russian-made S-400 Air Defence Systems squadrons by the end of 2025, Ministry of Defense sources have been confirmed with India today, adding that the final squadron is expected in 2026. I did it.

One of the deployed squadrons is strategically positioned to protect the Siliguri corridor, an important passageway connecting India’s northeastern states with the rest of the country. Another squadron is stationed in the Patangkot region to strengthen the defenses of Jammu, Kashmir and Punjab, providing security against potential aviation threats from both China and Pakistan. The third squadron is deployed along India’s western border, ensuring protection of major locations in Rajasthan and Gujarat from enemy attacks.
Following the escalation of tensions with China in Ladakh in 2020, India has been increasing its air defense capabilities to combat the threats that arise.
Sources also said the Army is expected to receive the assault rifle of 70,000 AK-203 in 2025, with another Rs of 1 rupee unit following the 2026 arms contract with Russia. This delivery, part of a massive agreement with Moscow, aims to equip Indian soldiers with one of the world’s most advanced and reliable assault rifles.
