India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Jasprit Bumrah To Bowl Soon?

Jasprit Bumrah has been spotted sitting outside India’s dressing room. Surprisingly, he is all geared up, wearing the match jersey. Does that mean he could come out to bowl next? The next few overs will tell.

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Rohit Sends Message To Team India

Rohit Sharma spotted on the sidelines, talking to Mohammed Siraj. Probably a message over bowling changes is coming from the Hitman. Prasidh and Siraj have so far bowled all the overs for India in the second innings. Another poor DRS by India on Siraj’s insistence. 2 reviews lost.

Would Jadeja or Nitish be introduced next?

AUS 116/4 (20.4 overs)

IND vs AUS 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Runs Keep Flowing

Wickets falling but runs also keep flowing from the bats of Australian cricketers. Beau Webster, the new man in, also opens his account with a triple. This partnership needs to be broken quickly if India are to make a real comeback in the match. 7 runs from the over.

AUS 111/4 (20 overs)

IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 3, Live: OUT

OUT!!! As the match was turning one-sided for Australia, India bounce back with the wicket of Usman Khawaja for 41. Khawaja becomes a prey of Mohammed Siraj, who gets his 100th Test wicket of the day. Khawaja tries to go for a defensive shot but the ball finds the edge and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant takes a good catch behind the stumps. Fourth wicket gone for Australia.

IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 3, Live: Khawaja on fire

Usman Khawaja is looking in good touch with the bat and stealing boundaries regularly. In the previous over of Mohammed Siraj, he hits a beautiful boundary as the Indian pacer leaks seven runs. Australia still need 70 runs to win this match.

AUS 92/3 (17 overs)

January05202507:53 (IST)

IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 3, Live: FOUR

FOUR!!! Another terrific boundary from Usman Khawaja off Mohammed Siraj. Khawaja makes a good use of the pace as he just brings the bat with soft hands. Smartly places a shot as the ball dodges the third slip and races across the boundary line for a four.

AUS 81/3 (15 overs)

January05202507:47 (IST)

IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 3, Live: Kohli’s brave call

In the absence of skipper and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, star batter Virat Kohli has taken a brave call. He refuses to chip in a new bowler and continues with the pace duo of Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj. Krishna has taken three wickets but India need to cautious and manage his workload accordingly.

AUS 75/3 (14 overs)

IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 3, Live: OUT

OUT!!! What a twist in the tale this is and Prasidh Krishna is just at his absolute best today. He has now taken his third wicket of the day and sent Steve Smith back to the dugout with only four runs in his account. Krishna offers extra bounce, leavimg Smith clueless as he tries to go for a defensive shot. The ball hits the bat and Yashasvi Jaiswal takes an excellent catch at the third slip. Currently scored 9,999 runs in Test cricket, Smith misses his 10,000 run mark with only one run. Hard luck!

The duo of Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne is forming a good partnership and the match is slowly slipping away from India’s hands. The visitors need to scalp another wicket at the earliest, in order to remain in the game.

AUS 51/1 (7 overs)

January05202506:25 (IST)

IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 3, Live: FOUR

FOUR!!! Despite losing the wicket of Sam Konstas, Australia are holding the momentum. Marnus Labuschagne has joined hands with Usman Khawaja at the crease. AUS 26/0 (2 overs)

January05202505:57 (IST)

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Siraj Starts Bowling Attack, No Bumrah On Field

AUS 13/0 (1 over)

January05202505:48 (IST)

India vs Australia 5th Test Day 3 Live: Boland Claims 6, India Bowled Out For 157

WICKET and it’s a wrap! Scott Boland claims his 6th wicket of the innings in the form of Jasprit Bumrah as India get bowled out for 157. Australia only have 162 runs to chase but it won’t be that easy on a tricky SCG surface.

January05202505:42 (IST)

IND vs AUS 5th Test: Mohammed Siraj Becomes Scott Boland’s 5th Wicket

WICKET and it is a fifer for Scott Boland. Mohammed Siraj looked to defend the 5th stump line from Boland but ended up giving a catch in the slip cordon. The third umpire did check if there was a bump before the fielder grabbed the catch but found it was a clean one. India 9 down now.

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Maiden Over From Boland

Jasprit Bumrah is padded up in the Indian dressing room which means he would come out to bat. However, there’s no official information about his fitness with regards to bowling yet. The seam movement on the Day 3 pitch at SCG is still too much to make the batters feel comfortable. Scott Boland completes an almost unplayable over to Washington Sundar.

IND 155/7 (38 overs)

January05202505:19 (IST)

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Boland Testing Siraj, Injured Bumrah Demoted

Edged but the ball just lands before the second slip fielder. Siraj flirting with the outside off delivery isn’t a good thing at the moment. No news on Jasprit Bumrah yet as it is Siraj who came ahead of him in the batting order. India might only be preserving the skipper because of his back issue. If that’s not the reason, it’s not a good news for the team.

IND 150/7 (36 overs)

January05202505:12 (IST)

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Pat Cummins Fights Back, Ravindra Jadeja Departs

Terrific square-cut from Ravindra Jadeja as India get their first boundary of the day. But just two deliveries later, Pat Cummins gets the all-rounder caught behind. India lose their 7th wicket.

Two runs from Pat Cummins’ over and its Scott Boland who joins him in attack. He was the most successful bowler yesterday with 4 scalps to his name. A fifer could just be around the corner.

IND 143/6 (33 overs)

January05202505:02 (IST)

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: We Are Underway!

Pat Cummins begins Australia’s attack with the ball as play on Day 3 gets underway. India’s approach this morning will be under the microscope as a 200+ target is a necessity at the moment.

India vs Australia 5th Test Live: Will SCG Pitch Be Questioned?

With the match heading for a 3-day finish, questions arise on the nature of the Sydney pitch. Batters from both teams have struggled to sustain themselves on the pitch, with most going attacking route to get runs. With a result a likely possibility, questions remain whether ICC would call this surface satisfactory.

IND vs AUS 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Patience The Way Forward For Jadeja, Sundar

Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar remain India’s last recognised batting pair. The top and middle-order showed a bit of a rush to score runs. While the strategy worked out well for Rishabh Pant, the same can’t be said about any of the other batters dismissed on Day 2. However, expect Sundar and Jadeja to play with patience today.

India vs Australia 5th Test, Day 3 Live: Can India Put 200+ Total On Board?

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Day 3 of the 5th and final Test between India and Australia from Sydney. Rishabh Pant’s fiery half-century on Saturday lifted India’s hopes of getting a favourable result from the match. However, the team still has a long way to go, especially if stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah isn’t deemed fit enough to bowl. Bumrah is expected to bat today despite his visit to the hospital yesterday over back spasms. But, a decision on bowling is yet to be taken.
