2-0 in the series, the Indian cricket team will host England in the third and final ODI in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. With the series’ fate already sealed, expect Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to try some fresh places in Play XI. Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh and others will all have the opportunity to play, especially keeping in mind the team’s ICC Champions Trophy participation. Virat Kohli should also be particularly focused, as the entire country is waiting for his return to form.
At the top, India is not expected to make any changes and Rohit Sharma is set to open along with Shubman Gill. Virat Kohli and Shrayas Iyer follow the 3rd and 4th spots. Yashasvi Jaiswal can also give another shot at the top, but he is no longer part of India’s revised Champions Trophy team. Therefore, Gill could hold his place along with Rohit.
Axar Patel, who has been playing fifth since the start of the series, was able to see him being replaced by Kuldeep Yadav. As wrist spinners are part of the Indian Champions Trophy team, giving game time is essential to planning for Dubai teams.
Another possible change that could happen in the team is the straight swap between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. Rahul wasn’t the best form of the series, but Pant also has earned the right to wager his claims on the role of wicketkeeper.
Arshdeep Singh, which has not been featured in the series so far, could bring about a change in PlayXI instead of Harshit Rana.
The third ODI is probably about Team India considering various options for the Champions Trophy. So expect skipper Rohit to make three changes.
India XI vs England, 3rd ODI: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shrayas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Kl Rahul/Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel/Kuldeep Yadav, Arsheep Singh
