Huawei teases next smartphone teases Harmono with “new form factor” as related stock jumps

Huawei Technologies It then bullied a new smartphone powered by homemade mobile platform Harmonyos, causing speculation games with the next move from the Chinese tech giant, sending related stocks higher.

The company was planning to unveil the handset with a “new form factor” in March as “the first (device) born from Harmonios’ next ecosystem.” Richard Yu Cheng-dong said in Monday’s video.

The new smartphone will present a breakthrough in the hardware, software and app ecosystem, Yu said. He added that it includes Huawei’s Harmonyos partner. Tencent Holdings, bytedance, Alibaba Group Holdings and Meituan – We were optimizing the app for future devices. Alibaba owns a South China morning post.

Huawei, which is banned from access to US-original technologies under Washington’s trade sanctions, is pushing for the adoption of Harmonyos, the latest iteration of its own development platform that does not support Android apps.

Yu’s video sparked speculation about Huawei’s next product. The handset could be a new type of foldable smartphone running on Harmonos, according to a report on Tuesday from news outlet China Star Market, which cites an anonymous source.
