The new report provides new insight into the minimum salary of WWE wrestlers in 2025.
World wrestling entertainment had many peak periods. The 1980s brought full-camania and serious income from pay-per-view growth. In the late 1990s, the birth of the Attitude Era and the enormous revenue from cable television were seen, and events were held in large arenas.

WWE is currently in a different peak period and the company is as popular as ever. They consistently break the records of their views, ticket sales and merchandise. And it benefited the roster talent. The recent success of the promotion and the addition of legal competitors in AEW have resulted in a big rumoured pay raise for wrestlers on the roster.
On Monday, Fightur revealed what the minimum salary for WWE wrestlers on the main roster is. According to the outlet (H/T Wrestle Ops), the top stars on the roster earn millions of millions each year, while the minimum salary for new talent on the roster is between $200,000 and $300,000 a year.
It asks the question, how does it compare to major sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, UFC, etc.?
WWE minimum wages are significantly behind the NFL, NBA and MLB

If today’s WWE wrestlers earn $300,000 in base salary, it’s not too bad compared to what a similar level of talent did 10 years ago. Additionally, performers can make a lot of extra money on selling products or bonus checks from major events.
However, it is still far behind when compared to major sports leagues. In 2024, the NFL minimum salary was just over $1.1 million. In the NBA, the minimum salary is $795,000, while in MLB it is $740,000. But it should be mentioned that much more money reaches those sports than WWE.
WWE stars are fewer than the top sports athletes in North America, but far better than the new UFC fighter jets. As of the past year, the minimum wage for beginners in the octagon is reportedly as low as $10,000 to fight and as low as $10,000 to win. This means that if they fight four times that year and win, they still only make $80,000.
