Gujarat Science City: The grand finale of Robofest Gujarat 4.0, organized by Gujarat State Council of Science and Technology (Gujkost) and Gujarat Science City, concluded on January 24, 2025, a four-day event that showcased the talent of students. marked the successful pinnacle of. From across the state.

The event featured various robot prototypes in seven categories, including rover robots, swarm robots, fun robotics, maze-solving robots, two-wheeled self-balancing robots, submarines, underwater robots, and hexapod robots. The winning team demonstrated strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Mona Khandar, Director, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, was the chief guest of the event. She praised the participants and presented awards to the top performing teams. During her address, Kander also announced the launch of Robofest Gujarat 5.0, which will focus on themes such as automation, artificial intelligence and micro, small, medium and medium enterprise (MSME) solutions.

Dr. Anil Bhardwaj, Director of Institute of Physics Research, Ahmedabad, spoke about robotics integration and scientific exploration. He highlighted the potential of robotics to foster further advances in science and technology.

The event was also attended by Shrisdhir K Patel, Executive Director of Gujarat Science City, Dr. Devani Croy, Chairman of Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Gujkhost Advisor and Member Secretary Narottam Sahu. About the importance of the event.

Total prize pool of Rs. 5.00 Crores was awarded to the winners in each category and the 1st prize winners in all categories received Rs.10 Lakhs. Dr. Narottam Sahoo said, “Robofest Gujarat 4.0 shows that innovation thrives when young minds work together to tackle challenges.”

The event also saw more than 5000 students from various STEM institutions visit the exhibition and gain inspiration to participate in future editions of Robofest.

Rover robot:
1st – Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
2nd – Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
3rd – LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur
Solace – Ahmedabad, LD University College of Engineering

Swarm robots:
1st – Chandubhai S Patel (Cspit), Charusat
2nd – Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
Third – Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
Solace – Parul Institute of Technology

Fun robotics and maze solving robots:
1st – NIT Rourkela
2nd – GH Patel University of Engineering and Technology
3rd – GH Patel University of Engineering and Technology
Solace – Banari Amman University of Technology

Two-wheeled self-balancing robot:
1st – Government Engineering College, Kannur
2nd – IIT Bhubaneswar
3rd – Nirma University Institute of Technology
Solace – IIT Bombay

Submarines and underwater robots:
1st – Nirma University College of Engineering
2nd – Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
3rd – Vellore Institute of Technology
Solace – IIT Bhubaneswar

Hexapod robot:
1st – Bhavsinhji Polytechnic Institute ir
2nd – svnit surat
3rd – Nirma University Institute of Technology
Solace – Badge Badge Technology Institute

Application-based robots:
Days 1 and 2 – Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya
3rd – Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar
Solace – Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar

In addition to the prize money, Gujcost has filed provisional patents for all 169 idea projects. Gujarat Technical University (GTU), Ahmedabad will provide incubation facilities for all conceptual projects and I-Create Ahmedabad will organize a one-day pitching and incubation session.

The event concluded with the promise to continue this journey of innovation through Robofest Gujarat 5.0, furthering Gujarat’s role in technological advancement and innovation.
