Google extends gemini ai in your workspace: smarter email, chat commands, image generation

Google has announced a series of AI-driven updates throughout its workspace suite, further integrating Gemini AI into services such as Gmail, Google Chat, and Image Generation Tools.

Gemini now inserts AI responses directly into Gmail drafts

Google Workspace Business and Enterprise users with access to Gemini can now directly insert AI-generated responses into email drafts within the Gmail app. Previously, Gemini’s functionality was limited to answering queries about inbox content, such as searching for unread messages. This update allows users to generate the entire response by opening Gemini in Gmail and inserting AI-created content into the draft with just one tap.

This deployment was completed in both rapid releases and scheduled release domains.

Google Chat simplifies app integration commands

Google is introducing new ways for users to interact with third-party applications within Google Chat. The traditional use of slash commands is supplemented by “quick commands” to allow users to start app functionality without entering prefixes. These quick commands are accessible from the Plus button menu next to the chat composition box.

Developers are provided with resources to integrate this feature into their apps. The development is currently underway at an extended pace and is expected to end by March 3, 2025.

AI-generated images now have people available in the workspace

Google has upgraded its AI image generation capabilities using Imagen 3, a tool designed to create more detailed and realistic visuals. Users can now generate images featuring people in a variety of workspace applications, including documents, sheets, drives, slides, Gmail, Vids, and more. This deployment will be completed for most services, but the full implementation within the Gemini app is expected by March 1, 2025.

In June 2024, American Technology Giant introduced an improved email notification experience through beta between Google Calendar and third-party calendar services like Outlook.
