New Delhi: India will co-chair the France-hosted summit on artificial intelligence (AI) scheduled for early February in Paris, French Minister Clara Chappas announced on Wednesday.
The event, called the Action Summit on Artificial Intelligence, will bring together world leaders from government, civil society, research and business, Chappas said after the cabinet meeting.

This comes after French President Emmanuel Macron announced last week that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit France to attend the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit from February 10-11. .
Speaking at the 30th Ambassadors’ Conference, President Macron said: “France will host the AI ​​Summit on February 10th and 11th, the Summit for Action as we call it. Prime Minister Modi is planning a major visit to our country as he wants to establish a dialogue with all the powers that be on AI.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) as a global issue, noting the involvement of countries such as the United States, China, India, and the Gulf states in developing and regulating AI technology. emphasized.
President Macron said, “Not only the Gulf states, but also major emerging countries such as the United States, China, and India, have an important role to play.”
Prime Minister Modi last spoke to French President Macron on November 18 last year during the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), this is the third meeting between the two countries in 2024, following Macron’s visit to India as the guest of honor on Republic Day in January and the meeting during the G7 summit in Italy in June. .
