Matt Ryan, the former NFL MVP who led the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl, said Monday that the Chiefs should rest Mahomes until the playoffs.
“If it were me, I would sit him. I think the most important thing is to get him healthy for the playoffs, but the ankle is tough,” he said on CBS Sports HQ. “I know he’s done it before in the playoffs and he came through it and played really well, but it’s a playoff game.
“If you look at this regular season, they have a two-game lead in the AFC and they’ve played those two games in a row. He won’t be able to play in the playoffs, but we’ll know the extent of the injury and how he recovers in the coming days.
