
Panchkula: Former Bharatiya Janata Party national secretary and former Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party state president OP Dhankar’s son Ashutosh Dhankar was attacked and injured by unidentified persons. According to reports, the attackers hit Ashutosh multiple times in the head with baseball bats and fled the scene. He immediately reported the incident to his family and the police.
His father, OP Dhankhar, rushed him to Sector 6 General Hospital in Panchkula, where he underwent CT scan and X-rays.
Ashutosh was driving home from Sector 12A Rally Chowk towards Sector 14 when one car overtook him and another followed closely behind. About 200 meters from his home, about a dozen young men attacked him.
Meanwhile, police have launched a probe to arrest the youths who attacked the son of the Bharatiya Janata Party leader.
It is worth mentioning that OP Dhankar was the Agriculture Development and Panchayats Minister of Haryana till 2019. He was later appointed by the BJP as the leader of the committee responsible for drafting the party’s election manifesto for the Haryana Assembly elections. Dhankar led a 14-member team to ensure that voices from various sections of society were represented.
