Asia’s biggest airshow, Aero India kicked off today at Ellahanka Air Force Base in Bengaluru. The 15th edition of the Air Show is special as it features a rare sight. American and Russian stealth fighters are the same in one frame.
The Russian SU-57 5th generation fighter and the American F-35 Lightning II are considered the most advanced 5th generation fighter and are taking part in the show. It is a “important milestone” in global defence cooperation, and is a sight for aviation enthusiasts.
“Only in India”
The SU-57 and F-35 will participate in daily aerial displays for all four days.
The video of Su-57 “Feet” taking off from Yelahanka is now viral. The pilot makes a vertical climb before performing a perfect circular loop where the pilot climbs to a vertical position and completes a perfect circle and reaches flight level.

The flying display includes two fighter jets, an American B-1B Lancer, and an ultrasonic strategic bomber.
Aerospace and Defense Trade Magazine, a video shared by Vayu Aerospace Review, showed the F-35 took off 10 minutes after the felony took off.

AMCA scale model
For the first time, a 1:1 scale model of the Advanced Medium Fighter (AMCA) will be displayed at the Indian Pavilion at the Air Show.
The AMCA is developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, who built the LCA Tejas Fighter Jet. The AMCA is reportedly a fifth-generation fighter with a single-seater twin engine.

Before AMCA is developed, HAL will develop the LCA Tejas Mark 2. Last March, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) cleared the project to design and develop the AMCA. Mass production of aircraft is expected to begin by 2035, ANI reported.
In addition to the AMCA, a prototype of the Hal Cats Warrion – an observable unmanned combat aviation vehicle – is also on display. CATS, short for Combat Air Teaming System, is developed in a public-private partnership between HAL and Newspace Research and Technologies (NRT).
Army and Air Force Chiefs take them to the sky
Yesterday, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and Army Secretary General Upendra Dwivedi set out for Tejas Fighter Jet to set the tone for Aero India 2025.
The IAF chief flew the army chief, who described it as the “best moment” of his life.
