The Meta platform led by Mark Zuckerberg, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and other technology divisions, began a global layoff across the company on February 10th. reported Bloomberg.
The company is filled with backlash from affected employees as the crackdown on “low performers” who are searching for new talent to dominate the AI race.
Several former meta workers spoke on social media. A blind that shares validation, a platform that provides anonymous forums and communities for verified employees to discuss issues.
Individuals were sent a closing email at 5am. “There’s no ERBP or manager meetings, no phone calls. Several employees claimed they were let go during medical and parental leave. “I consistently exceeded my expectations for years and gave birth to a baby in 2024 and was fired,” one former employee wrote.
Various reports have shown that the meta workers who have been left to be notified via email. The company reportedly offers a US employee retirement package that includes a 16-week salary, plus two weeks of service each year.
