Experts discuss the role of AI in drug research

“Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the discovery of creation,” said Mn Sridhar, director of drug management at Tamil Nadu. He has spoken on artificial intelligence at AICON’25, an international conference hosted by the SRM Pharmacy of Pharmacy (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Association of India (IPA). More than 450 representatives, 13 national and international speakers, and leading pharmaceutical experts attended the conference, setting the stage for discussions on AI-driven pharmaceutical innovation. He also discussed the impact of AI on drug safety and efficacy.

V. Chitra, Dean, and SRM College of Pharmacy highlighted the transformative role of AI in pharmaceutical research. IDMA Chair and IPA Vice President J. Jayaseelan highlighted the role of AI in accelerating drug discovery. Vice President and Executive Vice President of Pharma R&D, Makaland Abachat, Pune, Lupin Limited, spoke about AI-driven drug development. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice President of SRMIST, reiterated SRM’s commitment to AI and interdisciplinary research. N. Damodharan, Vice Principal of the SRM College of Pharmacy, attended.
