Elon Musk’s xAI has officially launched its standalone Grok AI app for iPhone users, marking a major step forward following a beta testing phase in December 2024. The app, which is currently only available to users in the United States, is still in beta and offers features comparable to those offered by the integrated version of social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Provide.

The goal of this release is to expand access to Grok’s capabilities and bring advanced AI chatbot experiences to a wider audience.

The release of the Grok app also builds on X’s introduction of a free tier model for its AI assistant. Previously, to access Grok’s features, users had to subscribe to X Premium, which starts at $8 per month. However, the updated free tier option allows users to make up to 10 requests every 2 hours and 3 image analysis requests per day. These limits apply equally to users using newly released iOS apps, providing a more accessible way to work with AI.

Beyond standard chatbot interactions like those offered by competitors like ChatGPT and Gemini, Grok AI apps differentiate themselves with additional features. Users can leverage information directly from the X platform to generate high-quality AI images and get real-time development responses. Additionally, the app allows users to upload files and images for detailed AI analysis, making this feature more versatile. Additionally, Grok supports the creation of custom visuals using text prompts, providing functionality similar to advanced image generation tools like DALL-E 3.

The Grok AI app offers useful features such as integration with iOS Control Center, Siri, and Shortcuts, making it easy for users to access its features. It also includes useful widgets specially designed for your lock screen. However, there is currently no information regarding the release timeline for the Android version of the app.
