Commenting on the ongoing H-1B controversy, CNN political contributor and Republican strategist Scott Jennings said this country needs someone like Elon Musk. The controversy divided the Republican Party into two camps. One is the camp of technocrats like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, and the other is the camp of prominent MAGA voices like Laura Loomer, Steve Bannon, and Nikki Haley. Some have tried to build bridges between the two sides, arguing that both sides have America’s interests first and that they should work together rather than fight.
“Look, it’s definitely a good thing that Donald Trump has a relationship across multiple sectors with one of the greatest innovators of our time, someone who is as invested as possible in America and our success. “I think so,” Scott Jennings said.
“I apologize if anyone was offended by that.”
“This country needs people like Elon Musk to create, innovate and participate in city government. This is a good thing,” he added.
Scott Jennings said H-1B fraud must be eliminated
Commenters stated that H-1Bs should not be exploited to recruit workers who are readily available in the United States. “What a lot of people in the party want is to eliminate fraud in this H-1B program and retain the great engineering talent, and there are ways to do that,” he said.
“There’s always been a push and pull within the Republican Party on this, but there are ways to resolve this,” Jenning said. “If you’re abusing the H-1B program and using it to hire interns and accountants who can be easily hired in the U.S. because you want to do it cheaper? That’s not good.”
