Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk presented the gift on Friday (IST) to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who looks like a heat shield tile that flew to SpaceX’s Starship Test Flight 5 last October. The words “Spaceship Flight Test 5. October 13th, 2024” were engraved on the tiles.
Prime Minister Modi met billionaire Musk at Blair House in Washington on Thursday. The musk was accompanied by three children and his partner, Shibon Zillis.
The tiles of SpaceX’s spacecraft presented to the PM are reportedly designed to protect the spacecraft from extreme heat encountered in the atmosphere.
Last October, SpaceX launched a spacecraft vehicle from South Texas. This mission is particularly noteworthy for successfully capturing ultra-heavy boosters at launch sites, and has achieved important achievements in aerospace technology.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi presented three Indian classic books to the children of masks – “Crescent Moon” by Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore, Great RK Narayan Collection and Panchatantra of Pandit Vishnusharma .
PM went on to microblog site X and said, “I had a very good encounter with Elon Musk in Washington, DC. I discussed a variety of issues, including issues that he is passionate about, including space, mobility, technology, innovation, and more. I spoke about India’s efforts to reform and “minimum government, maximum governance.”
“It was also a joy to meet Elon Musk’s family and talk about a wide range of subjects,” PM added.
Previously, both met in 2015 when the Prime Minister visited the Tesla facility in San Jose and was given a personal tour by the Tesla CEO.
