Prime Series III kicks off with Junior dos Santos featuring Alter Ego, a tribute to his iconic title-winning performance at UFC on Fox in 2011. In his UFC debut on the FOX network, dos Santos headlined against undefeated UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. With a record of 13-1, the Brazilian challenger seized the moment and delivered a stunning knockout just two minutes into the first round. The event not only crowned dos Santos the new champion, but also set a record for the most-watched live MMA event in U.S. history at the time.
Next up, Chan Sung-jeong, better known as “The Korean Zombie,” joins UFC 5 as the new Alter Ego, celebrating one of the most iconic performances of his career. In 2012, Jung headlined UFC’s Fuel TV 3, taking on 23-year-old Dustin Poirier. Jung put on a relentless performance, securing a fourth-round technical submission victory in a grueling fight. Under the Fox Sports banner, Fuel TV began broadcasting UFC events in 2011, and Jung’s performances remained a highlight of the era.
Clay Guida, a fighter praised for his unparalleled heart and relentless fighting style, will also be joining the Prime Series. In honor of his gritty performance in 2011’s The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale, Guida faced rising star Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, fighting in front of a sold-out crowd at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. Guida, 29 years old with a wealth of experience and a record of 28 wins and 8 losses, relied on relentless pressure and trademark wrestling to outwork Pettis in three rounds. The unanimous decision victory showed Guida why he has always been a fan favorite, blending heart, determination, and pure energy in every match.
Rounding out the Prime Series III update is Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, making his debut as Alter Ego in UFC 5. As the co-main event of UFC 202, Johnson faced No. 2 ranked Glover Teixeira in a light heavyweight title eliminator. Johnson, who has won 10 of his past 11 fights, enters the Octagon with a 21-5 record and unparalleled knockout power. Rumble scored a stunning and devastating KO in just 13 seconds, cementing his status as the number one contender for the UFC light heavyweight title. Fighting fans can now play as these four athletes at the peak of their careers and experience the thrill of fighting games in Prime Series Alter Ego.
