Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has launched a new program for students aged 14 to 18, as part of the council’s efforts to attract and develop sports talent, and in line with Dubai Government’s policy to support talent in various fields. has launched a basketball talent development center at the club in Dubai.
The opening of this promising basketball center aims to improve the skills of players, develop their abilities and motivate them to lead clubs and national teams in the future.
The center stands as part of the Dubai Club’s talent development program in basketball, which includes several meetings, matches, lessons and physical examinations, held under the supervision of basketball technical experts from the Dubai club and DSC’s partners. It was raised. The program began with the first experimental gathering held at Al Nasr Sports Club, where practical tests of various technical and physical skills were conducted to evaluate the athletes participating in the development center. Ta. The program includes players from Al Nasr, Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli clubs, as well as players from private academies recruited through the Dubai Basketball Academy Open Championship. Ta.
The test was conducted in two stages. One of them was physical preparation, which focused on training and physical testing of some basic aspects aimed at improving the performance of the players. The first stage consists of a motor fitness test that measures the player’s ability to coordinate different movements / a flexibility test / a reaction test that measures the level of the player’s reaction speed to sudden situations / an analysis of physical fitness and fitness. A physical fitness test was also conducted. Physical endurance/speed test by measuring reaction speed and quick movements.
Meanwhile, the second phase consisted of technical skills development, which focused on technical training to improve skills and improve player performance in different situations on the pitch. Part of this includes improving ball control under pressure / conducting training on pass accuracy and speed from different aspects of the pass / measuring the accuracy of shots from different distances and angles / moving without the ball This includes assessing the player’s ability to organize defensive and attacking systems. , improve cooperation between players and make better decisions on the pitch.
Testing will continue during the next sports season, supplying talent development centers with the best players, organizing specialized meetings and camps, and arranging friendlies against international teams to help players gain confidence. It is scheduled to take place. In addition to physical tests, intensive training, theoretical and practical enlightenment lectures will all be held under the supervision of the Academy’s Technical Director and in collaboration with partners from the public and private sectors. Coaches from specialized academies in Dubai are attracted to implement the best training styles and exchange experiences between local sports academies and talent development programs in order to improve overall performance.
It is noteworthy that DSC has launched a soccer and volleyball talent development center at Dubai Club, and a handball talent development center will also be launched soon. The Talent Development Center was established to attract the best talent of Dubai clubs for all individual and team matches under the umbrella of a specialized training center and the supervision of highly qualified technical staff. In addition, the Human Resource Development Center provides comprehensive support for human resources, including technical, health, nutritional, and educational aspects, and provides an optimal environment based on developing talents in a scientific and advanced manner. Promote prominent athletes of different age groups to the top team and develop player abilities. Local coaches and assistant coaches for the first team.
