Today we have great news from the Chanel Cinematic Universe. This time it will be held in the form of a mini-exhibition in New York. If you’re in the city, the brand’s boutique on 57th Street will be displaying Dua Lipa’s custom-made dresses from December 13 to 16 during her performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
If you’re a fan of Dua, you know that she’s a hardcore fashion girl. For her special one-night-only performance, she wore a Chanel dress that is every woman’s dream. The intricate top, adorned with pearls, crystals and Chanel’s signature camellia flowers, pays homage to Karl Lagerfeld’s ’90s haute couture collection, but is totally modern, and was designed to show off Dua’s killer abs. It has been cropped. The tulle skirt provided just the right amount of drama needed to fill out the winding custom stage on which she sang. The house estimates that 400 haute couture elements required a whopping 600 hours of handiwork to make all this happen. We humbly think Dua is worth it.
Dua and Chanel’s relationship has blossomed over the past few years, with the “Houdini” singer wearing Chanel to the Time 100 Gala in 2024 and even donning a stunning black sheer dress to the Academy Museum Gala last December . 1992 at the 2023 Met Gala?
This performance was her first since she dyed her hair jet black after working as a redhead. It matched well with the atmosphere of the night, with her rich voice and the 53-piece orchestra supporting her.
