As the NFL draft order is almost finalized, Deion Sanders’ past comments about having his son Shedule pick Eli Manning are already causing problems.
There is some speculation that Sanders is already planning to keep his sons from playing for certain teams.
“There’s going to be multiple idiots saying things that are completely untrue regarding where I want @ShedeurSanders and @ShiloSanders to play in the @nfl. If I were to say that, I would say it’s not an attention seeker. I say this directly to anyone it may concern: I know @nflcommish personally! (Mic) taken down,” Sanders wrote on Monday’s X.
“They’ve already started lying and positioning themselves, but they forgot that I have time today,” Sanders added.
It’s unclear what exactly Sanders is referring to, though. Early Monday morning, a tweet from a troll account masquerading as a reporter stated that Shedur had no interest in playing for the Titans or Browns, who currently own the No. 2 and No. 3 draft picks, respectively.
Sanders previously said Sheduah and Heisman Trophy-winning cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter would only play for certain teams if they entered the draft.
Asked in March 2024 where he thought Schedeur and Hunter would be drafted, Sanders said, “Top four.” “It can be anywhere from 1 to 4. One of them will be (number) 1…and the latter will never follow 4.
“Now, this is all subjective, but I know where I want them to go, and let’s not forget (Buffaloes safety) Shiloh (Sanders), but I don’t want them to go anywhere.” We know what we want. I mean, there are some cities that aren’t going to do it…that’s going to be Eli (Manning). We’re not doing that.”
The Patriots are currently scheduled to pick No. 1, followed by the Titans, Browns, and Giants.
