Diljit Dosanjh, whose star-studded Dil Luminati tour has been the talk of the town recently, has invited yet another beloved celebrity to join him on stage. This time, his show in Bangalore had none other than Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone as his guest.
In a video uploaded on Diljit’s Instagram account, Deepika was seen crouching beneath a platform as she teased her entrance with a friendly promotion for a skincare brand. “Do you know what brand this is?” he asked the audience, who quickly responded by chanting the 38-year-old actor’s name.
“My beauty secret is to shower and clean with this,” Diljit continued, as Deepika grinned off stage. “This is not an advertisement. No one is paying me. Trust me, this is gifted to me every month and I use it every time I come to India. Pride of the city, do you know who it is?”
“Very nice,” the Bajirao Mastani star murmured, mouth wide open in pleasant surprise. Immediately after her speech, she took to the stage to the jeers and hollers of the live audience. Dressed in casual attire, she happily danced with the performer, lip-syncing to his songs and throwing souvenirs to the crowd.
Diljit had no shortage of praise. “Deepika Padukone, can you believe it? What a great job she has done. We have seen her on the big screen. She is the one who has made a place for herself in Bollywood through her own efforts. You should all be proud. We’re all very proud,” he praised.
Fans of the two celebrities flooded the comments section with loving comments, with many praising the Padmaavat actor’s post-baby post. One user wrote, “The real gift at the show here was Deepika.” “Mom, you’re glowing!” one enthusiast observed. “The perfect collaboration we never knew we needed,” added another.
Actor and husband Ranveer Singh was also among those who were fascinated by this mini-collaboration. “Hey! Kabbat hai, Yara!” he said enthusiastically in Romanized Hindi. Expressing gratitude for Diljit’s invitation, Deepika wrote, “Thank you for the memories.”
Deepika, who took a break from her career to take maternity leave, introduced her baby girl to her followers in early November. A photo of the baby’s feet was captioned, “Dua Padukone Singh. ‘Dua’ means prayer because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.” is attached. The note was signed with Deepika and Ranveer’s names.
