Sydney Sixers achieved a nail-biting victory over local rivals Sydney Thunder in Saturday’s Big Bash League (BBL) match. Having needed seven from his previous two passes, Ben Dwarshuis completed six on the penultimate ball from Chris Green and comfortably guided the deciding single to seal the match. However, an incident involving two Thunder players caught the attention of fans on social media. Spinner Tanveer Sangha and wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings were caught in a fielding mix-up and captain David Warner was furious over the same.
The incident occurred on the first ball of the 15th over of the Sixers’ chase, when Moises Henriques mistimed a ball batted by Sangha. Enriquez got the top edge as the ball went high in the air.
It looked like a regulation catch, but Sangha and Billings didn’t communicate well and the ball ended up in no-man’s land. Warner was also seen with his arms in the air and appeared not to be happy about it.

The moment reminded fans of a similar incident involving Pakistan players Saeed Ajmal and Shoaib Malik.
Chasing 164 for victory, the Sixers looked precarious when they needed 47 with four overs remaining.
However, Jordan Silk (36 points off 25 points) helped him get 17 points off Nathan McAndrew’s over, and Dwarshas had some late heroics with 20 points off eight balls.
After Lockie Ferguson hit 6oz off his first ball, the Sixers took control with 15oz needed from Chris Green’s final over.
Green had a hard time getting away from his first three balls, but was hurt by two successive wide shots on the outside.
Then, with seven balls needed from two balls, Dwarshuis smashed Green over the ropes at long-on for six, and a quick single off the last ball sealed the victory.
The incident came after Dwartheuis also had 14 hits on six pitches on Monday night to help the Sixers defeat the Melbourne Renegades.
