tradition and innovation
Historically, fashion shows were exclusively dedicated to haute couture. The designers presented their latest creations in the intimate and exclusive setting of their home salon. While some brands continue this tradition, today’s venues often reflect a particular artistic direction, turning each event into a unique experience.
Paris is the ideal backdrop for these shows. The capital is home to iconic locations such as Pont Neuf, the site of Louis Vuitton’s first fashion show by Pharrell Williams. While Saint Laurent remains true to the elegance of the Trocadero with the Eiffel Tower in the background, Dior regularly installs ephemeral spaces in the Jardin des Tuileries. These exceptional settings underline Paris’ greatness as a fashion capital.
established structure
Fashion weeks follow a precise rhythm and are organized so that brands can present their collections about six months in advance of their launch. This adds time to production and distribution. The fall/winter menswear collection opens in January, and spring/summer is the main focus in June. These important dates are interspersed with women’s fashion shows and haute couture collections.
Haute couture remains the exception. Escaping the constraints of mass production, each piece is made to order. These great pieces will be released in January for the next spring/summer season and in July for the fall/winter season.
international perspective
While Paris maintains its top spot, Fashion Week is part of the global calendar. These follow an established order: New York, London, Milan and finally Paris. The latter is organized by the Haute Couture Fashion Federation and guarantees the consistency and excellence of Parisian events.
Every city has its own unique characteristics. With its unique cultural and architectural heritage, Paris offers an experience unlike any other capital city. Cruise and pre-fall shows are often held outside of traditional fashion weeks and also allow fashion houses to travel and explore new horizons, strengthening their international reach.
What to expect in 2025
One of the highlights of next year will be Valentino’s return under coach Alessandro Michele, which promises to be great. This change at the helm of the Italian fashion house signals the resurgence that critics and fashion lovers alike have been waiting for. Meanwhile, brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Chanel will continue to dazzle with their spectacular displays.
In June, Spring/Summer 2026 Men’s Fashion Week will unveil the trends that will define the upcoming season, while in July, Haute Couture will reveal extraordinary creations. These unique collections remind you why Paris is the birthplace of great fashion.
