As a Christmas present and to commemorate the birthday of China’s founder Mao Zedong, the People’s Republic of China will unveil its second futuristic military aircraft, the J-36, made in Chengdu for the first time on December 26, 2024. Immersed in luxury. Aircraft Corporation (CAC)

The announcement, coinciding with Mao Zedong’s 13th birthday, underscores the continuity between China’s revolutionary tradition and modern military ambitions. The choice of this symbolic date reflects the importance the current government still attaches to the figure of Mao Zedong, despite past criticism.

The unveiling of the J-36 represents a significant advance in China’s aerospace capabilities. This next-generation aircraft embodies China’s determination to position itself as a capable military power that rivals the West’s cutting-edge technology.

The J-36 is China’s new next-generation fighter aircraft, which recently revealed a unique and innovative configuration. Features a tailless delta-wing flight wing design. It is an unusual three-engine configuration, features a cockpit that suggests a crew, and is distinguished from a drone by the presence of at least one pilot. Its body length is estimated to be 22 to 26 meters, and its wingspan is approximately 20 meters.

Its design has been optimized for stealth, with its flying wing shape reducing radar signals and the absence of conventional control surfaces. It also features a side-mounted caret-type intake and a dorsal intake, and the engine’s exhaust design probably features low character characteristics.

The J-36’s propulsion is particularly interesting with three engines, each fed by a dedicated air inlet, and two side engines with the possibility of thrust-vectoring nozzles, suggesting high-speed performance and long range. I’m doing it.

Although the exact details are still speculative, the J-36 appears to be designed for the role of a stealth bomber comparable to the U.S. B-2 and B-21, and a long-range cruise missile. It has the capability of carrying a large number of aircraft and the possibility of long-range reconnaissance missions.

This aircraft represents a significant advancement in China’s capabilities and demonstrates its mastery of cutting-edge technology in military aviation.

The J-36’s unveiling on Mao’s birthday shows how modern China seeks to reconcile its revolutionary traditions with its ambitions as a 21st century technological and military power.
