Kiyan Anthony, who is having a great run in the EYBL, wanted to impress rapper NLE Choppa, who was in Memphis to watch the game between Team Melo and Vegas Elite. Although Kiyan was already known for his skills, he felt he needed to put on a show for Choppa. Kiyan, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall as a shooting guard, shared his thoughts on this in an interview that aired on Overtime’s YouTube page on September 16, 2023.
Anthony shared how special it feels to have people like famous rapper NLE Choppa supporting him. he said: “Just seeing guys like NLE Choppa from the rapper side. It feels really good. Just to see how much of an influence they really have on me.”
He added that when NLE Choppa showed up at his matches, it motivated him to perform his best. “For him to be in the game, it’s like we have to put on a show.” said Kiyan, a native of Middle Village, New York.

NLE Choppa talked about his excitement when he saw Kiyan Anthony play, explaining that he has been a fan of Kiyan since he was young. “Kyan, it’s really fun to watch him play. I’ve been watching hoops since he was young and he’s progressing really well.” Choppa said, praising Kiyan’s development and on-court skills.
Kiyan Anthony certainly left his mark and showcased his skills in the Nike EYBL. In one of his best games, he scored 30 points and led Team Mero to an 84-79 victory over Vegas Elite, impressing rapper NLE Choppa in attendance. Kiyan, who is committed to Syracuse for college basketball, followed in the footsteps of his father, Carmelo Anthony, with a memorable performance.
The two teams met again the following year, with Vegas Elite getting revenge with a 66-51 victory. Kiyan was unable to repeat his 30-point game, scoring only 12 points in the loss. However, despite this setback, his talent was still evident and his potential was undeniable.
Kiyan’s overall performance in EYBL is impressive. According to MaxPreps, he ranked 10th in the Nike EYBL 17U circuit, averaging 20.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. His consistent, strong play was highlighted by an outstanding performance, including scoring 28 points on 5-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc against Pro Skills Elite.
