Investing.com – UK shares rose after the close on Friday, with sector gains driving share prices higher.

The stock rose 0.09% at the London close.

The best performer of the session was Vistry Group PLC (LON:), increasing by 2.83% or 15.50 points to close at 563.00. meanwhile, Centrica PLC (LON:) added 2.21% or 2.85 points to end at 131.85; diageo PLC (LON:) rose 1.50% or 37.50 points to 2,535.00 in late trading.

The worst performer in the session was Next PLC (LON:) fell 2.60% or 256.00 points to close at 9,590.00. Pershing Square Holdings Co., Ltd. (LON:) fell 2.34% or 90.00 points to end at 3,764.00. Clodagh International PLC (LON:) fell 2.12% or 73.00 points to 3,379.00.

On the London Stock Exchange, advancing issues outnumbered declining issues by 931 to 799, with 697 issues ending unchanged.

Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.89%, or $23.54, to $2,630.36 per troy ounce. In other commodity trading, crude oil for February delivery rose 0.83% or $0.58 to $70.20 per barrel, while the March contract for Brent crude oil rose 0.73% or 0.53 to trade at $73.38 per barrel. Ta.

GBP/USD was unchanged at 1.26, an increase of 0.28%, and EUR/GBP was unchanged at 0.83, an increase of 0.29%.

Dollar index futures fell 0.03% to 107.86.
