Although it is designed to assist humanity, longtime AI strategist David Borisch predicts that artificial intelligence will exceed human capabilities in general intelligence capabilities within this year.
This has been a popular concept in Hollywood for years, with movies like “I, Robot,” “The Matrix,” and “The Terminator” all creating storylines where machines take over.
“Some may think this is bold, but I predict that 2025 will be the year that AI passes virtually every human test,” Borisch said. “The advancements we will see in inference models in 2024 have convinced us that we are on the cusp of this breakthrough.

This has been a popular concept in Hollywood for years, with movies like “I, Robot,” “The Matrix” and “The Terminator” all creating storylines where machines take over.
“Some may think this is bold, but I predict that 2025 will be the year that AI passes virtually every human test,” Borisch said. “The advances in inference models we will see in 2024 have us confident that we are on the cusp of this breakthrough.
“The impact will be profound, but I expect the transition to be more gradual than many expect.”
New York City-based Borish is currently working with former NFL/CFL player Brandon London on a project called Jocks and Bots, a show that combines sports, technology and culture. In addition to London and Borish, the show will feature AI-generated female co-host Ira, believed to be the first of its kind.
The challenge with AI is that the technology is constantly changing, Borisch said. For example, less than a year ago, Aira only had a robotic voice rather than visuals.
Rapid advances in AI make it extremely difficult to determine in advance how good or smarter an artificial intelligence will be.
“What we don’t know is that when something becomes smarter than the smartest human being that ever existed, we don’t know what we don’t know,” Borisch said. “How can we know something we have never experienced, a being with an IQ smarter than the smartest IQ ever?
“All the futurists who predict the future are hired to write the scripts, so there’s nothing outlandish about any of the movies.Especially when you look at the number of robots being built right now, robots are becoming AI-based. AI has become smarter than us, and robots now technically have bodies and brains smarter than humans.”
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a recent blog post that the industry knows how to build AGI (artificial general intelligence) and is currently working on superintelligence.
“Hyperintelligent tools have the potential to greatly accelerate scientific discovery and innovation, far beyond what we could do alone,” Altman said. “And the result is a huge increase in wealth and prosperity.”
But with that comes great responsibility, Borisch said.
“The key to success is maintaining a balance between innovation and responsibility,” he said. “As AI becomes more powerful, we will ensure that it remains aligned with human values and interests.
“As someone deeply involved in guiding organizations through this transformation, I am excited to see how these predictions play out and how they shape our collective future.”
