In the Senior Women’s Trophy match played on Monday, the Bengal team broke the record for the most successful run chases in List A women’s cricket.
The team succeeded in achieving the target of 390 runs against Haryana in Rajkot, breaking the Northern Division record of 309 runs against Canterbury during the 2019 New Zealand domestic season.

The highest record in women’s international cricket is the 305 runs scored by Sri Lanka against South Africa earlier this year.
‘Player of the Match’ Tanusree Sarkar was the main architect of the victory with his outstanding bowling innings of 113 innings with 83 deliveries featuring 20 boundaries. With this victory, Bengal secured a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
After being sent into bat, Haryana posted an impressive 389/5, with international star Shafali Verma leading the way with an outstanding 197 off 115 balls. India’s previous highest batting average in women’s List A cricket was 356 for four in the match between Railways and Chandigarh in 2021.

Verma, who was left out of India’s limited-overs squad, showcased his abilities by hitting 22 fours and 11 sixes. This performance followed her earlier century of 98 off 139 against Uttar Pradesh.
Verma received excellent support from Reema Sisodia and built a 173-run opener, with Sisodia contributing 58 runs. Triveni Vasistha and Sonia Mendya scored 46 and 61 points respectively.

Sarkar made a huge contribution in both departments, scoring 3/56 at a medium pace and then scoring a match-winning century. She took the wickets of Sisodia, Yadav and Vasistha.
In response, Bengal got off to a great start with openers Dara Gujjar and Sasti Mondal racing to 100 runs within nine overs. Before Sarkar took over, Gujjar hit 69 off 49 balls and Mondal hit 52 off 29 balls.
Wicketkeeper Priyanka Bala scored an unbeaten 88 off 81 deliveries while Pratibha Rana completed the chase with 28 successes off 26 balls to ensure a memorable win for Bengal. did.
