Sure, Almost Famous from the 2000s is a cult classic movie, but 25 years later, we’re still stuck with Kate Hudson’s portrayal of chic and glamorous Penny Lane. Based on real-life groupies, Penny is obsessed with following bands on tour. Her wardrobe is equally rock star worthy. Primarily, that ruched coat has since become a costume touchpoint for film iconography (brought to life by costume designer Betsy Hyman). Today, designers continue to put their stamp on shirred-lined coats, including labels such as Loewe and Nacne Studios. Now, supermodel Bella Hadid is just putting a modern spin on an outerwear staple.
Hadid was spotted at New York City’s Westside Helipad yesterday, January 25th (presumably to catch a private helicopter somewhere), and her cozy winter look was completed with a vintage coat giving Penny Lane 2025. did. The brown suede style with shaggy trim is styled with brown leather over-the-knee boots and is the type of look Penny would wear to a ’70s rock show. Hadid gives the Groovy Ensemble an update with the checkered Louis Vuitton Duffel Bag, but with all the glamor of a luxury bag.
