B'desh receives US$1.16 billion loan from World Bank for inclusive and climate-resilient development

Dhaka, December 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) The World Bank will provide a total of USD 1.16 billion to help Bangladesh improve health services, water and sanitation services, and achieve greener, climate-resilient development. Three projects were approved.

This will create approximately 200,000 new domestic taps and provide improved sanitation services to approximately 100,000 people in low-income areas.

The project is part of the World Bank’s South Asia Regional Initiative or Programme, which aims to provide water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services to approximately 100 million people across the region by 2035.

The project will also help Chattogram Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (CWASA) improve operational efficiency and financial sustainability and address issues related to water loss such as high levels of leakage, metering inaccuracies, and illegal connections. will help you.

Reduce water loss by installing new water meters and operating 46 smart district meter areas (DMAs) that provide reliable water supply, leak detection, and real-time tracking of water consumption.
