Associated Press competes with Dubai, Singapore as investment destination: Lokesh
Minister of IT and HRD Nala Lokesh

VIJAYAWADA: Claiming that the TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has succeeded in securing investments of Rs 400,000 crore in just seven months, IT and Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh said consistent policies and continuity in governance are essential. said it is essential. The TDP national general secretary said the first question he receives from Indian and international investors is what will happen if there is a change of government in the state.
Lokesh, who is responsible for big-ticket investments like Google, Reliance and TCS in the state, said it will take a lot of patience to convince industry giants to set up shop in Andhra after a “disastrous” five-year rule by YSRCP. He said it was necessary. “The people of the Associated Press should also differentiate between the previous destructive government and the current NDA government. “We must ensure that we continue to move forward,” he said.
In an interview to STOI, Lokesh said the government is working to make Andhra a preferred investment destination with emphasis on speed of doing business. “We want to compete not only with other states but also with countries like Dubai and Singapore,” he said.
He thanked the federal government for its “amazing support” to the state and said it would one day become a crime if the government asked for more support. “The capital Amaravati and Polavaram are now on track and the Visakhapatnam steel plant is being revived. The BPCL refinery, NTPC green hydrogen project and rail line to Amaravati are being realized with support from the Union government. “There is,” he said.
Regarding the implementation of the ‘Red Book’ (a record kept by Lokesh before the assembly polls), he said it was supported by the people and that was one of the reasons why people came to vote in large numbers. said. However, he made it clear that he would not use it for revenge politics.
