Apple Fitness+ is a subscription service that was launched about four years ago. Since our inception, we have had an ‘everyone is welcome’ attitude, encouraging people of all levels of confidence to exercise. Video sessions are extremely high quality and produced at Apple’s multi-million dollar Apple Fitness Studio in California. You can watch it on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, and the heart rate collected from your Apple Watch will be displayed on the screen.
In addition to existing exercise types from HIIT to dance, meditation and yoga, this year we’re introducing a new 3-week course that targets all major muscles with a step-by-step approach to help users build and maintain muscle strength. A strength training program will be introduced. Participate in a series of 30-minute workshops in groups.
And now Apple says there’s something called Pickleball, or at least a Pickleball Strength, Endurance, and Agility program, coached by Katherine Parenteau, the No. 1 ranked player in the world in both singles and doubles. This exercise was inspired by Parenteau’s own training.
One thing I can’t wait to do is peak yoga pose. Apple makes every session accessible. If you can’t keep up with the main trainer, there’s always someone else to do gentler, easier exercises, so no one is excluded.
But if you were hoping for something a little more challenging in certain areas, this kind of new element might be ideal. In new sessions, focus on one pose, such as Dancer, Hand Twisted on Big Toe, or Crow, to boost your confidence. If you’ve ever seen me do a crow (and you haven’t, because in yoga you just focus on yourself, right?), you’ll know that I need all the help I can get. .

There’s a new section introducing breathing meditations, with five 10-minute meditations to choose from, including Sea Breathing. Artist Spotlight continues, and workouts include playlists from just one artist. Upcoming workouts include music from Janet Jackson, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars.
Time to Walk is a special show exclusively for Apple watch, an intimate listen where a person shares a bit about their life and chooses three tracks that are meaningful to them. Over the years, their subjects have ranged from Dolly Parton to Prince William. New episodes begin January 13th and feature actors Adam Scott, Tiffany Haddish, and Rita Ora.

There’s also a Strava integration, with improved integration between Strava and Fitness+, so when you share a Fitness+ workout to Strava, you’ll see details like episode number and image, trainer name and metrics, and more.
And a new Apple Watch exclusive offer: You can accomplish this by closing all three activity rings for seven days in a row.
Apple Fitness+ is a great fitness service and Apple has ensured that it remains cutting edge and offers something for absolutely everyone. New content will begin shipping on Monday, January 6, 2025.
