This is in contrast to the next big update, iOS 18.3. iOS 18.3 is already available in developer and public beta ahead of an expected release sometime in the new year, likely January 2025, or February 2025 at the latest.
According to MacRumors’ Joe Rossignol, the iOS 18.2.1 confirmation came from an “anonymous social media account with a history of sharing iOS-related information.”

According to MacRumors, the source will announce the build number only a week before the general release. This information arrived on Tuesday, December 24th, so the release date will likely be Tuesday, December 31st.
