Fatah has banned Al Jazeera from reporting from Jenin province.

Al-Jazeera Media Network condemned the “incitement campaign” launched by Fatah in the occupied West Bank against Al-Jazeera and its journalists, especially its correspondent Mohammad Atrash.

The network said in a statement that the “deplorable” campaign was launched due to its coverage of clashes between the Palestinian National Security Forces and Palestinian resistance fighters in Jenin.

The Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah, which has jurisdiction over the Palestinian Authority, banned Al Jazeera from operating in Jenin Governorate due to its coverage of continued attacks by Palestinian security forces against Palestinian fighters in Jenin. This is in response to what was announced.

“This network has always been, and always will be, a platform for opinion and other opinion, and a professional source of trustworthy and impartial reporting. Al Jazeera is committed to maintaining professionalism throughout its coverage of events in Jenin. ,” the network said in a statement.

“The voices of both the Palestinian resistance and the spokesperson for the Palestinian National Security Forces were always visible on Al Jazeera’s screens,” the statement continued.

Al Jazeera further noted that such campaigns could put correspondents at risk.

“The network is committed to holding Fatah, the Palestinian National Security Forces, and related institutions of the Palestinian Authority accountable for any damage that may befall Mohammad Atrash and Al Jazeera journalists in the occupied West Bank. There is.”

In a statement released by Jordan-based Loya News on Monday, Fatah said Al Jazeera was playing a “dangerous role” in reporting on the clashes and that it was exacerbating “discord” and infighting between Palestinian factions. he claimed.

The group also called on Palestinians across the occupied territories to refrain from doing business with the network.
