It’s not uncommon for Adidas to ship its most classic sneakers to Italy, France, and even Germany to give them incredibly luxurious “made-in” modifications. Samba has received quite a few of these premium upgrades over the past year (crocodile skin, anyone?).
It’s time for superstars to get the, well, star treatment.
Adidas has created another ‘Made in Germany’ superstar sneaker. Featuring a super creamy leather upper as well as an equally buttery interior, they’re all made in the European country where Adidas is based.
For JJJJound fans, the German-made superstar may sound very familiar. The Montreal-based studio does indeed have its own “Made in Germany” superstar, who appeared on the internet alongside a black “Made in Japan” superstar in November 2024 . The “Made in Germany” pair came in a classic off-white colorway and would have looked like a regular adidas Superstar if it came with the usual deluxe build.
Fans are still patiently waiting for JJJJound’s collaboration. However, there are whispers that it may finally be caught this year.
Adidas, on the other hand, is rolling out a “Made in Germany” Superstar without JJJJound, featuring tasteful vintage-style details. In particular, the Superstar’s unmistakable shell shoes and rubber soles have been slightly yellowed for an aged look, as if someone unearthed an OG pair from 1969 in very good condition .
Speaking of which, the brand will be releasing only 1,969 pairs of the “Made in Germany” edition, a nod to the year the Superstar was first introduced.
For now, the adidas Superstar Vintage “Made in Germany” sneakers are scheduled to release on January 15th in this classic Core White colorway. A black colorway has also been spotted, literally following in the footsteps of the upcoming JJJJound collaboration.
If you’re feeling a little impatient, Adidas’ inline pair will satisfy your cravings.
