Adidas slams NBA and Nike for not coming up with Christmas-themed jerseys in past posts

Nike is undoubtedly the undisputed leader in sports apparel and footwear around the world. With a whopping net worth of $115.6 billion, Nike is one of those special brands that can easily be found in the wardrobe of any athlete, no matter what field of sport they belong to.
Adidas, which Nike has exclusive rights to NBA uniforms, took a dig at in previous posts on social media. Dating back to October 2015, this viral post featuring Adidas-style jerseys from several NBA teams caught the attention of several basketball legends on social media.

Adidas directly criticizes Nike after global brand fails to develop special Christmas NBA jerseys

Before Nike took over the NBA uniform industry in 2018, Adidas was given the responsibility of supplying basketball teams with jerseys from early 2006 to 2017-18.
Adidas recently criticized rival brand Nike for not providing special Christmas jerseys for each NBA team. A social media post by Adidas quickly went viral. Adidas’ retrospective post is as follows:
“It was a great day, but it was even better when I ate this.”

The viral post featured colorful jerseys from the Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and Golden State Warriors. During its partnership with the NBA, popular sports apparel brand Adidas created holiday-themed uniforms to commemorate Christmas games. The colorful colors and festive video not only excited fans but also made them look forward to the holiday season.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James responds to viral Adidas post

Adidas’ throwback post to the X caught the attention of the NBA fraternity, along with some of the biggest names in basketball. Nike representative athlete LeBron James responded to a retrospective post about X, writing:
“So sad we don’t have the Christmas Day uni anymore! It was a great feeling when I walked into the locker room and saw the uni. It literally felt like I had received (gift emoji)! Wow, Wow! ”

This criticism came from one of Nike’s most prominent figures. It’s almost impossible to deny the popularity of Christmas-themed NBA jerseys back in the day. The Lakers star has long been obsessed with sports shoes.
During a visit to the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, James donated comfortable sneakers and shoes to a group of children. For James, sports should never be taken away from children. he said-
“Sport in general should never be taken away from children,” he added. “It creates fun, it creates laughter, it creates competitive spirit, it creates brotherhood and sisterhood. If you can have shoes that are so easy to put on and take off, it gives kids new opportunities to make their dreams come true. It will be given.”
LeBron James helped Nike develop easy-to-wear shoes and sneakers for children with patients with disabilities in mind. There’s no need to explain that the Lakers star is obsessed with classy yet comfortable sneakers.
