Recently, an EasyJet flight had to make an emergency landing amid chaos after a teenage girl attacked a flight attendant and tried to open the plane’s door mid-air.
Following the shocking incident, the flight was diverted from Gatwick Airport to Bari, Italy.
Passengers on the EasyJet flight claimed the out-of-control teenager had thrown a tantrum because the 10-year-old was coughing violently, The Sun reported.
The teenager allegedly assaulted a flight attendant and threatened to stab him.
“We went to Turkey for Christmas and had a really nice holiday at a hotel called Aska Lara,” a 19-year-old passenger named Jelnay told The Sun newspaper.
“We were all nice and relaxed, but on the flight home it turned into hell. My Christmas was ruined.”
“So this 16-year-old girl was sitting about four rows behind me, next to a girl who was about 10 years old. She started coughing and I told her to stop.”
“The little girl went to the bathroom, and the older girl followed her to the bathroom as well.”
“The girl kept yelling, ‘Get out of my face!’ but she wouldn’t let me out.”
“Then her mother (Jelnay’s mother Nadine) collapsed and the teenage girl screamed in her face.”
“She just started yelling profanities at the crew and then stormed towards the back of the plane,” her mother said.
“She was trying to open the door and broke the handle. Crew members pulled her away and restrained her.”
“She was surrounded by the entire crew, but one person tried to calm her down.”
“She started screaming on the plane and threatened to stab the flight attendant.”
Nadine added: “At one point she took off her shoes and threw them at the passengers. Everyone was very nervous.”
The teenager was arrested by police after the plane landed at Bari airport in Italy.
EasyJet told The Sun: “Flight EZY8556 from Antalya to London Gatwick on 27 December has been diverted to Bari.”
“The police were called because a passenger was acting disorderly on the plane.”
