A major donor to the Democratic Party gave a surprising summary of Donald Trump.
John Morgan told Politico that the president-elect is a “freaking genius” in an article published Sunday examining the potential toxicity of the Democratic Party’s brand.
“I don’t know if Trump is a stable genius, but he really is,” Morgan said. “He tapped into something the Republican Party never saw: anger and populism on the Republican side.”

Morgan, a Florida-based fundraiser, has donated to advance President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, the state Democratic Party and other causes championed by the party.
However, he actually left the Democratic Party in 2017 and became an independent voter. At the time, he said there was a “lack of enthusiasm in today’s politicians,” but that he would still support candidates who he “personally likes.”
Morgan, who is considering running for Florida governor again, teased to Politico that he might form a new “Capitalist Party” to campaign as a “compassionate capitalist.”
