RCB vs KKR IPL 2024: Some thought it would be a strong 83* from Virat Kohli’s 59, but youngster Venkatesh Iyer (50 from 30) and veteran Sunil Narine (47 from 22) Some people predicted that “Dot” would take center stage. But an unlikely hero emerged during the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Gautam Gambhir came and hugged Kohli and Virat hugged him back. They were smiling and apparently speaking sweetly to each other, something fans haven’t seen in years. They are known for their fierce rivalry in the IPL.

Just a few hours before the match, Star Sports shared a video clip of Gambhir, the former KKR captain who is currently coaching the team, saying that he had always wanted to win against RCB.

“RCB didn’t win anything. Yet they thought they won everything,” Gambhir said in the video, stressing that he always wanted to break RCB’s ‘attitude’. Said.

That set the tone for the match. Bengaluru and Kolkata are known for their epic encounters. Moreover, Kohli and Gambhir are known for their rivalry. When Gambhir was coaching Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2023, he got into an argument with Kohli after the match. Things got pretty ugly.

However, what transpired between Gambhir and Kohli surprised many and at the same time disappointed those who were expecting a new battle between the two. Many users on social media claimed that Gambhir had apologized to Kohli while sharing photos and videos of the incident.

Sunil Gavaskar’s statement

After the incident, Ravi Shastri was discussing this year’s fair play table. When KKR were standing at the bottom, a JioCinema commentator pointed out how Shah Rukh Khan’s team could crawl up, especially after Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir’s embrace .

Sunil Gavaskar, who is known for his cheeky comments, said, “Not just the Fair Play award but also the Oscar,” clearly hinting that it was a “performance” by the KKR leader.
