introduction

The Redmi Note 14 4G may look like a strange ball, but once you know it, it makes perfect sense. Xiaomi has been creating bestsellers in the budget segment for many years, with the Note 14 4G being the manufacturer’s entry in the 200 euro class.

The Redmi Note 14 5G offers higher performance and better connectivity for around 300 euros, but here it has even cheaper and thoughtful features. The 4G model clearly loses HDR10 video support, OIS on the primary camera, Ultraweed camera, and 5G support, but clearly retains the Redmi Note Essential for a solid midrange experience.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G Review

The Redmi Note 14 4G has the same design as the Redmi Note 14 5G and comes with an IP54 rating for splash resistance. It offers a similar 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Helio G99 Ultra chipset is a popular 4G choice at this price range and should provide satisfactory performance. It is also an upgrade on the Snapdragon 685 of the Redmi Note 13.

The Redmi Note 14 4G has three cameras on the back. 108MP primary, 2MP macro, 2MP depth sensor (if you can count this). Like the Redmi Note 14 5G, there is no optical stabilization in the main camera, and the 8MP Ultrawide camera available on the Redmi Note 13 4G is no longer available. Bummer!

The selfie camera has been upgraded with a 20MP sensor. And speaking of upgrades, the stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos Enhancement.

The battery capacity is increased by up to 5,500mAh on the Redmi Note 14 4G. The charging power remains the same at 33W.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 4G (Global) specifications at a glance:

Body: 163.3×76.6×8.2mm, 197g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), plastic back, aluminum frame. IP54 dust is protected and water resistant (splash). Display: 6.67″ AMOLED, 120Hz, 1200 knit (HBM), 1800 knit (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi; Always on display. (2×2.2 cortex A76 and 6×2.0 cortex-A55) Software: Android 14, Hyperos: Wide (Main): 108 MP, F/1.67″, 0.64µm, PDAF. Macro: 2 mp, f/2.4; Depth: 2 mp, f/2.4. Front camera: 20 mp, f/2.2, (width), 1/4.0″, 0.7µm. Video capture: Rear camera: 1080p@30/60fps; Front camera: 1080p@30fps. Battery: 5500mah; 33w wire, 55% 44 minutes: bt 5.3.

Overall, the Redmi Note 14 4G is a minor update to the Redmi Note 13 4G with a slightly faster processor, a larger battery, a better selfie camera, and improved screen protection. But even if it’s not the major update that will make Note 13 users jump ships, the phone will still be a good-looking budget offer.

The Redmi Note 14 4G ships with a USB cable and a dark gray protective case. The display also has factory-applied folio protectors.

The EU version of the box does not include a charger, but Asian has a 33W Xiaomi Power adapter with a USB-A port.
