The crack appears to have appeared on the 1st of June during a strike call by a film organization in the Malayalam film industry. The demands include cutting actors’ surge in wage packets and removing double taxation by the state government on film tickets.

A social media post by film producer Antony Perumbavaux has questioned the announcement of a strike by G. Sureshkumar, producer and vice-president of the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA), and is more multi-close industry than proposed strikes exposed cracks. .

Perumbavoor, the producer of films, including Lucifer and Neru and the upcoming L2: Empuraan, said under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, that strikes will affect the livelihoods of thousands.

He argued that there was no consensus among KFPA members in the decision to take the strike from June 1st. Sureshkumar declined the allegation, noting that the strike call was unanimously filed by the trade organisation of the Malayalalum film industry.

He claimed that box office claims for several films that joined the “£100 Croix” club have escalated. He also said that the producers used it to make such claims after receiving pressure from the lead star.

Perumbavoor refused, noting that it is now a common practice in the various film industries, and that promoting multiple box office revenues is common. He argued that the record collection was based on total revenue, not on individual stocks acquired by producers.

Actors Prithviraj, Unni Mukundan, Aju Varghese and Tovino Thomas supported Perumbavoor by sharing social media posts. KFPA secretaries Rakesh and Siyad Kokker, their vice-president, were among those gathered behind Sureshkumar.

Representatives from various film organizations plan to meet Prime Minister Pinarai Vijayan by June 1st. He plans to acknowledge him about the crisis and make a request to terminate the movie ticket double taxation system. Local body.
