Anthony is likely to hit the majors for a while already with the Red Sox and Triple A this season. Jenkins had 155 bats at double A level, so the elimination process made Jenkins the top prospect for next year.
Why is he so highly regarded?
In 2023, the 19-year-old hit .362 with .989 OPS in 26 games between Rookie Ball and Low A.
In 2024, he was injured at the beginning of the season. Once he got healthy, he hit .282 with .833 OPS in 82 games with four levels of play. He spent most of his time low, with 32 extra bass hits, 58 RBI and 17 steels at High A, and the youngster walked more than he attacked. Jenkins made his Double A debut before the end of the season.

Despite his strong level of play, Jenkins is still looking at the stars. At Twins Fest in January, he told MLB.com’s Matthew Leach.
“I’m always going to set very high expectations that I feel almost out of reach, because I think that’s the only way I can get where I want to be.”

2025 Outlook
Walker Jenkins is set to begin the 2025 season with Double A. He wants to stay healthy this year and meet his personal goals. If he continues to perform as he was in Wichita, he will have the opportunity to make his major league debut next year at the age of 21.
