Add Amy Poehler to your podcaster growth list. The actress, writer and filmmaker will launch a weekly series Good Hang with Amy Poehler this March.
With the show set for its 50th anniversary special on February 16th, the Saturday Night Live alum, currently on the circuit, announced the news during their appearance today Monday morning.
A good hang will find Polars sharing personal stories and chatting with fellow celebrities about what makes them laugh. Video podcast, Good Hang, is a partnership between her own Paper Kite Productions and Spotify’s The Ringer. Poehler will be executive produced with Ringer founder Bill Simmons and recent Paper Kite Hire and Jenna Weiss-Berman. “I’m very excited that Spotify and Bill are welcoming me,” Poehler says. “I can’t wait to have good, stupid fun.”
“Amy should have one of the biggest podcasts in the world. She’s a great hang, she’s funny, she’s curious, she’s everyone knows and actually loves the genre. , put your real thoughts on what works and what doesn’t,” Simmons added. “I can’t believe she actually wants to do this. We’re over the months we can work with her.”
The actress recently had a fruitful run behind the camera. She starred in the lead role in 2024 No. 1 Box Office Champ Inside Out, produced Chelsea Peretti’s first female filmmaker and directed the Emmy Award-winning 2022 documentary Lucy and Desi.
Poehler may not be used to hosting podcasts, but that’s not her first foray into the genre. She previously starred in a scripted comedy podcast. Sheila is a crucial and streaming hit in 2023.
She is currently performing live with her frequent collaborator Tina Fey. The pair recently announced the 2025 date for the Restless Leg tour, with dozens of new stops being planned in cities such as Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
